Frombork is a small town on the Vistula Lagoon. Due to its history this picturesque venue is also veritably magic. In the 13th century the cathedral was erected and the town became the seat of the Cathedral Chapter. The town's first settlers came from Lübeck thus the town was granted Lübeck city rights on 8th July 1310.

The town's 700-year-long history left its numerous marks which new visitors rediscover every year. They are attracted by the unique architecture of the cathedral hill, historic events and the mysteries of outer space. The strongest visitor magnet, however, is Nicolaus Copernicus.
Frombork also goes by the name of the City of Copernicus. This is where this outstanding scientist has spent most of his life and where he wrote his opus magnum "On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres". He also passed away in this town in 1543 and was buried in the cathedral.

Frombork's most important sights are located upon the cathedral hill featuring the basilica being the oldest monument here, the steeple by the name of Radziejowski-Tower, the planetarium being the highest building upon the hill and the Copernicus-Tower.
